Blackburn with Darwen Council awards £1 million cloud contract

Blackburn with Darwen Council has awarded a £1 million, five year contract to Northgate Public Services to provide a cloud SaaS based-revenue and benefits service. Starting in April the contract can be extended for a further three years for a total value of £1.6 million.

The service will be delivered from the Northgate Public Services cloud, providing low-risk, improved service continuity and increased value for money at a time when all councils are faced with austerity budgets.

The contract win underlines Northgate Public Services’ position as a market leader in the delivery of cloud based revenues and benefits services, with its software supporting half of the UK’s council tax collections and housing benefit claims.

Anthony Singleton, Executive Director for Services, Northgate Public Services, said:

“More and more councils are seeing the value of cloud based services. They have repeatedly shown their reliability, value, and efficiency in supporting the delivery of essential services. We’re pleased to be helping the council to deliver this service and to help the Council improve the lives of residents in Blackburn and Darwen.”
