Northgate Housing and Northgate Revenues and Benefits Achieve Oracle Exadata Ready and Oracle SuperCluster Ready Status
15 August 2013
Northgate Public Services today announced that Northgate Housing version 6.7 and Northgate Revenues and Benefits version 6.7 have achieved Oracle Exadata Ready and Oracle SuperCluster Ready status through Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN). Today’s announcement demonstrates that Northgate Public Services fully supports Northgate Housing version 6.7 and Northgate Revenues and Benefits version 6.7 on Oracle Exadata Database Machine and Oracle SuperCluster, as well as Oracle Solaris 11 and Oracle Linux.
Northgate’s revenues and benefits systems and housing management systems are widely used by local authorities to deliver core public services. Northgate Revenues and Benefits is used by around half of all UK local authorities, while Northgate Housing supports around 35% of UK social housing stock.
Northgate Public Services is a Gold level member of Oracle PartnerNetwork.
Oracle Exadata Ready and Oracle SuperCluster Ready are part of the Oracle Exastack Ready program which allows partners, such as Northgate, to be recognized by Oracle for developing, testing and tuning their applications on Oracle Exadata or Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud engineered systems.
Oracle Exadata delivers extreme performance and is the ideal database platform for OLTP applications, data warehouses as well as the varied and unpredictable workloads of cloud computing. It is a complete package of servers, storage, networking, and software that is massively scalable, secure and redundant.
Oracle Solaris 11, the first cloud OS, brings the reliability, security and scalability of the #1 enterprise OS to the cloud, allowing customers to run their most demanding enterprise applications in private, hybrid or public clouds.
Oracle SuperCluster is Oracle’s fastest engineered system. Oracle SuperCluster combines Oracle’s SPARC T5-8 servers running Oracle Solaris 11 with the database optimization of Oracle Exadata Database Machines, the accelerated processing of Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software, the high throughput and availability of Oracle’s Sun ZFS Storage Appliance, and unified systems management of Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center 12c. It is pre-tested and optimized to run Oracle Database, Java and enterprise applications unchanged while accelerating database and Java performance by up to 10x compared to a build-it-yourself configuration.
“When partners such as Northgate Public Services leverage the latest component products of Oracle Exadata Database Machine and Oracle SuperCluster as the foundation for their applications, they benefit from a complete, integrated and cloud-ready infrastructure that will help them utilize new features and functionality and drive innovation,” said David Hicks Vice President, Worldwide ISV and OEM Sales. “We are pleased to see Northgate achieve Oracle Exadata Ready and Oracle SuperCluster Ready status as this significant milestone helps equip them to deliver superior value to customers.”
