Northgate sponsors Whitehall Industry Group breakfast
18 November 2013
Northgate Public Services sponsored a recent Whitehall Industry Group breakfast meeting which was hosted by Professor Dame Sally Davies, Chief Medical Officer.
Over 60 delegates from private and public companies heard Dame Sally explain why she felt that “The public’s health is everyone’s business”. Dame Sally focused on a number of issues, including exercise, obesity and alcohol and the impact these have on our society.
Northgate has been contributing to the delivery of health services through innovative solutions for over 20 years. Its programmes and solutions not only support the delivery of heath care, but are producing evidence which is helping to drive better outcomes for patients, while increasing efficiency and lowering the costs of service delivery.
Iain Mclachlan from Northgate said: “We deliver trusted services and technology solutions to measure and monitor the quality of patient care. We work on behalf of the Department of Health, the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership, Public Health England and the National Screening Committee, the Irish Health Service Executive, the Information Centre for Health and Social Care and other Agencies, managing national programmes. In addition, locally, we work with many hospitals and trusts.”
Mr Mclachlan added that Northgate’s health focused solutions and services included identification and support to diagnose conditions, which if left undetected, would cause severe disability or even death and therefore its solutions and services are instrumental in dramatically improving the long term wellbeing of children and adults.
“Using data captured by clinical teams or directly from patients, Northgate is helping the health service to capture and measure patient outcomes following treatment.”
He added “The great opportunity an event such as a WIG debate brings is a chance for us all to think as responsible employers, citizens, partners and customers. It enables members to engage with the guests such as The Chief Medical Officer, focusing on the key strategic themes of the future of healthcare. At Northgate that ensures we are developing future solutions and investing in line with these key themes.”
