Lincolnshire councils maximise council tax revenue
A review of single person discount claims for the seven councils in Lincolnshire generated £585,000 in additional council tax revenues.
Undertaking single person discount reviews put additional pressure on already stretched resources, so seven local authorities in Lincolnshire undertook a shared review to check the accuracy of more than 100,000 cases.
Northgate Public Services was selected for a one-off review across the following councils:
- Boston Borough Council
- South Kesteven District Council
- North Kesteven District Council
- East Lindsey District Council
- West Lindsey District Council
- South Holland District Council
- City of Lincoln District Council
Undertaking the SPD review on behalf of several councils meant that different back office systems were being used and ways of working. NPS worked with the teams to ensure the review maximised the number of cancellations achieved and in an efficient and timely manner.
